Dr. Maria-Angelika Hanne brings 25 years of management experience in the aviation industry to her assignments, enabling her to consult in a wide range of areas of concern to top management, investors, financial, government and international institutions. Her expertise includes the complete range of airline and aviation know-how, with a focus on corporate strategy, company restructuring, business planning, mergers and acquisition consulting, fleet strategy and management, network management, commercial and financial management. Dr. Hanne is an experienced people manager and has extremely well developed motivating, communicating, multi-cultural team leading and negotiating skills. She also has extensive abilities in presentations and discussions at the highest levels. Her long term international experience in top management functions, interim top management assignments and coaching experience on the highest level enables her to flexibly adapt to customers needs.

Dr. Hanne has led important strategy, restructuring, recovery and pre-acquisition projects in four continents, such as the operational recovery of a major airline in Venezuela , the pre-acquisition business planning in 2005 and 2006 of a major airline in Brazil, and the operational recovery of state owned airlines in Africa. She acted as Deputy Managing Director, Chief Commercial and Chief Financial Officer of a national airline in Africa, initiating the companys recapitalisation as well as its strategy and business plan for turning the company around to profitability. She also re-negotiated major fleet acquisition and lease contracts and acted as shadow manager in top management of various European and international airlines.
From 1999 to 2001, under a management contract, she acted as Vice President Network Management for a major state owned South East Asian airline, establishing a state of the art network management organisation and a dual hub system. Her responsibilities included market research, network and schedule planning, pricing, revenue management, distribution policy and alliance policy. She held various executive positions in several major divisions at Lufthansa German Airlines, including network planning, sales and distribution, auditing, and product development. During her assignment as head of network planning for the Americas, she played an essential role in establishing the "Star Alliance". Also in Lufthansa, she gained experience in marketing and product management and worked as assistant to the groups Executive Vice President Finance.
She began her career in 1982, when she joined Lufthansa in route planning and controlling. Dr. Hanne has extensive international consulting and management experience and has conducted management seminars and business assessments for clients in a wide variety of countries such as Germany, Indonesia, Gabon, Madagascar, Brazil, Turkey, Romania, India, Morocco, Burkina Faso, and the USA.
Dr. Hanne studied Business Administration and Economics at the University of Hannover in Germany, receiving her doctorate in 1983. After a traineeship in Boulder, Colorado, USA, she joined Lufthansa German Airlines, where she worked for 17 years in a wide variety of functions, 10 years of which in executive positions. She speaks German, English, French, Italian and Spanish and has a working knowledge of Portuguese.
